Approval

There you are, a bright idea formed in your mind. Your heart races as you pull out a notepad and pen to write. Your hands are sweaty from excitement. You feel very resourceful at this points as all the elements of the idea starts falling into place as you plan: what you gonna do with the idea, how you gonna make it real, what resources are gonna be needed, how long its gonna take you and BAM! The loud obnoxious wise voice pops into your head and you get all jittery. It's as if a kill switch has been pressed. The excitement is gone and its replacement is not a very good feeling: WORRY.

You worry that your idea is ridiculous and inconceivable. You worry that you are going to get stuck in the middle of bringing your idea to reality and get laughed at. You worried that your family, friends, co-workers or some stranger you have never even met will throw bricks at you and call you a clown. All these worries basically turns to the fact that you think that you would not be approved of and will hence be rejected from society. So instead of letting a small seed of genius grow, you crush it and go back to trimming and caring for your dead garden.

Approval is so overrated. Sacrifice is good but constantly seeking for approval is just sad. I do that sometimes after losing the battle with my 'obnoxious' voice and when I see my idea manifested by someone else, its heartbreaking.

Let's not get so absorbed in the APPROVAL disease. Enjoy your creativity and express it.
